South Ribble is a great place to do business. As an MP, I will campaign for better broadband, roads infrastructure and lower rates to bring jobs to our area and support exporters. And I will make sure the Government’s investment of millions for the redevelopment of Leyland town centre is spent properly by South Ribble Council.
Small and medium businesses are the backbone of our economy and something I’m hugely passionate about supporting. I’ve run my own business in the past and know that every piece of help available is welcome, so I’m very pleased about the array of help on offer through the Government’s Help to Grow campaign.
The Help to Grow campaign has been set up by the Government to support British businesses in either getting set up or in growing bigger and better. For people who want to start their own business, there’s guidance available on getting off the ground, taxes and business rates, how to employ staff, and information on applying for a start-up loan. If you already own a business and want to step up to the next level, there’s assistance available with everything from developing your leadership skills to support with research & development and growing your sales.
As part of the Help to Grow campaign, we’re also pushing hard to help you export overseas and expand to markets beyond Britain. The Help to Grow campaign offers support with creating an export plan, explanations on the steps involved with exporting, and access to experts over at the Department for Business and Trade for advice. There’s some fantastic small businesses across South Ribble, and it would be fantastic to see our little slice of the world on show, being exported across the globe.
If you’re interested in setting up your own business or expanding one you already own, I’d recommend looking into the support offered by the Help to Grow campaign. Running a business can seem hugely complicated, but with the packages of support out there, a lot of the difficulties can be cut down on, and Help to Grow has collated as much as possible into one easy-access hub.
