Planning permission has been granted to Lancashire County Council and Maple Grove Developments for an employment site at Lancashire Central which will create 5,600 new jobs and boost the local economy by an estimated £390 million annually.
The development is designed to include industrial, manufacturing, logistics, and research and development spaces, 116 new homes and a variety of amenities, including food and drink outlets, a gym, a hotel, a crèche, and a health centre.
The plans include extensive landscaping and the establishment of ecological habitats along with Improvements to the surrounding roads and pedestrian/cycle routes.
It was great to visit the site and meet with county councillor Aidy Riggott to learn more about this exciting project and the anticipated impact on economic growth locally.
