With Back British Farming Day this week, I am supporting a call for supermarkets to highlight the very best of produce by incorporating a ‘Buy British’ section online. Brilliant news from the Government yesterday that they are also supportive.
Our local farmers and producers are rightly celebrated for their tomatoes, salads and carrots, as well as lamb and beef. It would be a huge win for us to support them easily and clearly through our online shopping.
Nearly all supermarkets clearly label British produce on their shelves but for the millions every week who now shop online it can be difficult to identify British produce.
The government and the NFU supporting the campaign is great news. It’s now over to the supermarket bosses to agree and I hope they do.
