Fantastic news that Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB are getting extra funding for adult social care.
They will receive £560,320 to strengthen community support networks, promote wellbeing, and ease social care demand. The money will also support hospital discharge, develop the Shared Lives model (which matches people with carers), and help create a support service for unpaid carers.
£1.2 million will also be received by Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB to implement a smart medication device. This will help improve the independence and safety of up to 2,500 people.
Nationally, £20 million will be allocated to local authorities which deliver adult social care services in 2023-4 and a further £22.6 million in 2024-5.
I am so pleased about this extra funding. It's important that people are able to live their lives as independently as possible and this government money will help to make that happen for more people.
