Today celebrates the magic and joy of reading books, with children dressing up as their favourite characters and talking about books in school. 
Every child in South Ribble will be given a £1 book token as part of World Book Day, This can be used in participating shops to get their free World Book Day book.
I have always loved reading and my all-time favourite is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams 
. If I were to dress up as a book character, it would definitely be Arthur Dent.
I’m looking forward to seeing the creativity of the local children’s costumes on here today.
