A consultation has been launched to help ensure fairness in the allocation of social housing. Proposed changes prioritise individuals with ties to the UK and their local community, while addressing anti-social behaviour and terrorism concerns.
The government are seeking views on a new set of tests including:
β
UK residency requirement for eligibility
β Anti-social behaviour disqualification
β
Local connection verification
β
False statement and income thresholds
βTerrorism offender exclusion
I support plans to give local people and some settled foreign nationals priority for social housing and that those who play the system or who are convicted criminals should not be given housing ahead of those who are law abiding.
Itβs important that South Ribble residents have a say π¬.
Please get involved by 26 March 2024. Find out more here. π
