Last week, I had my ever first ballet lesson with @dancesyndromeuk, a local community dance group. I was invited by Becky Rich, the group's spokesperson and ambassador, whom I met in London a few months ago. The group's founder, Jen Blackwell, recently received a British Empire Medal for her services to disabled people.
DanceSyndrome collaborates with an arts charity to provide inclusive dance workshops, leadership training, professional development, and high-quality performances. They have regular sessions across the North West and participate in UK-wide events, with Zoom sessions available for those who can't attend in person.
It was great to meet Becky again and witness the impressive work that she, Jen, and the team are doing in South Ribble, Lancashire, and the wider North West.
