Please donate to the Poppy Appeal online is the message from Katherine Fletcher ahead of this year’s Remembrance Day.
Every November people across South Ribble proudly wear their poppies with pride to help raise funds for our veterans. This year, The Royal British Legion is asking everyone to back the Poppy Appeal in a new way because of coronavirus.
The Royal British Legion and Revolut, a British financial technology company, have teamed up to enable users to donate directly to the Poppy Appeal.
Katherine Fletcher is calling on those who use Revolut in South Ribble and beyond to use the electronic donations feature as a way to support the charity.
South Ribble residents can support the Poppy Appeal each time they spend by automatically rounding up their card transactions to the nearest pound and instantly donating the difference. Revolut users can also make regular recurring payments or one-off donations.
100% of each donation goes directly to the Poppy Appeal and the service is completely free for the Royal British Legion

“I am delighted that The Royal British Legion have found a way to raise vital funds for our veterans using technology. Every November, residents in South Ribble proudly wear a poppy to support the poppy appeal. This year the 3,000 Revolut users in South Ribble will be able to donate electronically and support our veterans. The partnership between The Royal British Legion and Revolut is a fantastic example of innovation in world-class technology working with our charities and communities.”
