NEW GOVERNMENT BOOST FOR LEYLAND’S RUNSHAW COLLEGE
Local MP Katherine Fletcher was delighted to welcome the announcement of more Government investment into Runshaw College. This funding is focused on post-16 education, as more people enter A Levels, T levels, apprenticeships, and traineeships. Runshaw College is getting the investment for extra teaching space and additional science labs to ensure young people from across South Ribble can learn what they need for high-skilled, well-paid jobs.
Local MP Katherine Fletcher said -
“I’m delighted that Runshaw College is getting the recognition it deserves from this Government and that the incredible work they do is rewarded on a national scale. Each time I have met with the students and staff, I have personally seen how lucky we are to have this excellent College in Leyland.”
“This Government’s £83 million fund is key in ensuring everyone has the opportunities they deserve to gain the skills needed to succeed. We are ensuring that the teenagers in South Ribble have exactly this opportunity here in Leyland.”
The investment is a part of the Government’s £83 million Post-16 Capacity Fund, used to build new classrooms, science labs and extend teaching facilities. Runshaw College is one of the thirty-nine post-16 education provides across the country to benefit from the fund.
