I’m very proud to have the Lancashire Mounted Police branch here in Hutton knowing there are only few of them across the country.
It was great to learn more about how police horses are trained.
The horses at Hutton Mounted Police are known for the quality of their training – it’s remarkable how they can deal with loud noises such as music, riot situations and fires. Thank you for letting me come and see the training – the progress both the riders and horses have made in just 16 weeks is incredible!
I must admit I was excited to meet the horses - I heard some rumours that all the horses were named after Lancashire towns, Queen’s Jubilee and the Preston Guild – I spotted a few great names such as Rufford and Croston
