Great to meet up with the @lancashirewildlifetrust in Rufford to find out more about the £1.57 million funding they were awarded by DEFRA as part of the Nature for Climate Peatland Grant Scheme and to go and see the project before work begins. They are doing amazing work and I look forward to seeing the progress on this project.
The protection and improvement of our peatland is part of the government’s Environmental Improvement Plan 2023 and an important way to help biodiversity and help meet our net zero targets.
