Some fantastic developments at Leyland railway station.

The station upgrades include:
Extended platforms. When finished, they will improve the customer experience by allowing for more capacity and better access to carriages for the new, longer, more modern trains, replacing the awful old pacers.
A safe tactile paving surface on the platform for people with sight loss or vision impairment. The station was made step free a few years ago using Government money and these changes increase accessibility even more.

Reopening Midge Hall station for passengers – trains currently stop at the station but passengers can’t get on or off - we explored some great ways to make this happen.
Removing the buffers at Ormskirk – to allow passengers to travel directly from Preston to Liverpool without having to travel via Wigan.
