Today is International Women’s Day. The day is an important world-wide event and I would like to mark it by finding a woman from the constituency who has done something special to come and join me at a number 10 reception in April.
If you know a woman who has gone above and beyond, I’d love to hear all about her. The achievement could be in the community or in business, in public life or in another area like healthcare or volunteering – the scope is wide.
There are women all over South Ribble who are doing tremendous things right now as leaders of organisations, in businesses ownership or in charities and I would like to recognise one of them this month as we mark International Women’s Day.
I know a big part of that work is inspiring others and I would like to see someone recognised for that work as women take on more and more of the crucial roles in our society and drive change.
But it doesn’t have to be a high flyer, it can be someone who is an unsung hero, who has made a difference to people or a community and should be recognised for what they do.
So please have a think and get in touch. I would love to be able to honour a woman from South Ribble for the work they do.
Please email nominations to me at [email protected] by Friday 22nd March.
