Talking to the residents of Balshaw Court about 
bus services, 
plans for the new hospital in South Ribble and the 
Leyland Town Deal.
I really enjoyed the chance to visit McCarthy Stone's Balshaw Court retirement community and meet the residents. I visited the site during its construction and it was great to visit the place again and see the innovations, like solar panels integrated into the roof.
I had a very interesting conversation with residents, answering questions about what’s important to them like:
Getting a proper crossing to access the bus to Preston.
The £2 Billion new hospital coming to South Ribble.
The new hospital that will be replacing the Royal Preston Hospital in 2030. £2 Billion will be invested in the biggest programme of hospital building in a generation. Whichever site is chosen will have good transport links and be purpose-built to meet the needs of patients.
The £25 million of Government money being invested into the Leyland Town Deal to improve Leyland centre.
The team running Balshaw and helping out residents are doing a fantastic job and it was really nice to hear how much everyone enjoys the community there.
