It was great to stop in at Rafa club Leyland branch on Friday to chat with Kelly about the truly fantastic work that she and the club do locally.
The RAFA club opens their doors Monday to Saturday, 7:30 to noon for travellers using Leyland station. It’s a lovely place to sit in the warm with a brew and wait for the train. They invest everything they make into The Wings Appeal and their local groups, it’s all for charity.
It was amazing to hear about all the local groups they support and all the events they host, including: arts and crafts, a mother and baby group, litter picks for Leyland in Bloom, a talking table every Wednesday and all sorts of local bands. They’re more than happy if you want to use their venue as a starting point for your charity events, they can even put food on!
The club also helps support the lonely elderly by connecting them with groups to join and it helps support CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) with their fundraising events and meets.
Please do pop in for a drink or to find out more about their events and their venue. They are an absolutely lovely bunch and have space available for groups and parties.
