It was a brilliant break from work today to spend time with Community Network and Outreach Service - one of our local HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) venues.
Over the summer holidays, £220 million of government funding is available for HAF schemes to provide free food & activities for young people across South Ribble who are eligible for free school meals.
These sessions are a great place for our local children to have fun and learn new skills throughout summer when school is out, as well as being provided with free delicious meals.
A big thanks to Sophie and the team for letting me join in with making pizza's, and for letting me get my inner Bruce Forsyth out for Higher and Lower cards.
If your child receives benefits-related free school meals, you can book a spot at one of these sessions by contacting your local council (South Ribble, Chorley or West Lancs depending on where you are in the constituency!)
