Reliable and accessible cheap energy making South Ribble the best place for business
It was great to ask about the cheap and reliable energy available locally in Parliament last week and to highlight how well placed South Ribble businesses are to take advantage of that.
Local businesses are exploring geothermal, and we also have the huge advantage of the Howick Cross substation bringing in energy from offshore wind, onshore wind in Scotland, and the north-west and Welsh nuclear fleet.
My recent trip to the substation was fascinating. Itβs clear that it is an attraction as grid connections to cheap and reliable electricity are important. I will be talking about the excellent energy generation infrastructure we have in the area when I make the case to bring investment to South Ribble. All of this is great for the Northern Powerhouse.
