I was really pleased to be able to make good news phone calls to the Heads of Penwortham Girls’ High School, Wellfield Academy, and Lostock Hall Moor Hey School yesterday to let them know they are set to receive Government funding for state of the art rebuilds or refurbishments as part of the Government’s flagship national School Rebuild Programme.
Back in the autumn of 2021 Penwortham Girls’ High School wrote in to secure my support for the campaign to build a sports hall and I was able to visit and discuss their needs and speak to the County Council and the Government about it. I am so pleased they are in this group of refurbishments.
We have such fantastic schools, teachers and pupils across South Ribble, and I’m always blown away by the students whenever I go and visit. Further details of the scheme will be out soon and I’m looking forward to seeing the results in the future!
