You may have seen in the press, people calling into question Leyland’s place on the government’s innovative Town’s fund scheme.
I make no apology for strongly pressing Leyland's cause, and will not be backing any calls for a re-evaluation of who can bid for this funding.
If I’m honest, I’m pretty horrified that people would suggest that Leyland is not a place which has in recent years not had its fair share of support. Whoever sat at a desk and decided we are “ low priority “ is wrong.
The Town’s Fund bid is to allow for up to £25m of government investment per town. I’m currently working with Local Business and the Local Council to shape a bid for all of that £25m investment in Leyland, as part of the Town’s Fund board.
Let’s ignore the critics and look forward to funding which will really kick start a big change in our town centre.
