Last week I met with Electricity North West and I got to see the installation of new cables and equipment to stop power outages in the area (many caused by bird strikes)
These new diverters deter the birds from colliding with the lines, and the great news is, there have been no power cuts caused by a bird collision since.
It was great to get my hands dirty with some of the old kit and see on the map where they've installed an underground cable which is an alternative source of power to reduce the outages
