£18.2 million Levelling Up Fund Bid for South Ribble Submitted to Government - supporting investment in Penwortham
The government has a scheme called the Levelling Up Fund (LUF) where councils, with the support of local MP's, can bid together for funds to do important things in our communities.
I made sure to push for a bid to invest in us here in South Ribble & last week I wrote to the Secretary of State to formally support a bid which does just this.
I can only formally support one bid, so with three local council areas here this hasn't been easy.
This bid proposes an expanded shopping and community hub on Liverpool Road to create more space for our brilliant local businesses to thrive and entertain. Plus, Vernon Carus Cricket and Sports Club could also benefit from well deserved, shiny new sporting facilities.
I really hope we'll be succesful in this competitive process with a strong story to tell.
