Since the announcent of a planned third prison at Ulnes Walton, I have been lobbying hard on your behalf with Ministers in both the Department of Justice and the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. Making sure they know the scale of the problems that an additional prison at this site will cause.
I was delighted when, in response to this, the Levelling Up Secretary decided to reopen the planning inquiry into the proposal.
Letters I have sent should be landing on the doormats of local residents this week setting out how they can register their view to the reopened inquiry.
