Shop local on Small Business Saturday
Supporting small businesses is crucial, especially during the festive season. Choosing to purchase presents, decorations, and groceries from your local high street can significantly impact the local individuals and families running these businesses. By doing so, profits directly benefit locals instead of large corporations.
Today marks Small Business Saturday, a grassroots initiative urging shoppers to 'shop local' and support the small businesses within their communities.
Small businesses like your community pub, local butcher or coffee shop, make up over 99% of all UK business and account for over half of business turnover and employment. Yet we know that it remains a challenging climate for many.
In support of this important cause, I have today bought these beautiful flowers from Pamela Jane Florist in Penwortham for my mum. I encourage everyone to join in and support not only this shop but also other local retailers, bars, and restaurants in the area. It really makes a difference when you buy from small businesses and there are so many wonderful businesses to choose from locally.
