Last year, 285,000 girls joined in, and the FA wants even more to take part this year.
The last 18 months has seen the Lionesses become EURO champions and World Cup finalists and it’s a great time to encourage girls to play the beautiful game.
Over 75% of schools are delivering equal access to football in PE lessons and there has been a 39% increase in the number of female youth teams since 2021 but it’d be great to see even bigger percentages.
The FA want to get as many girls as possible to play football on the same day in schools across the country. Whether they're already scoring goals in girls' football or just getting started, this event is an amazing opportunity to show support and promote equal access to the sport.
This is such a great project. I’m a huge Manchester United fan and have always enjoyed a good kick about. It’s fantastic to see girls given more opportunities to play football both in school and in their spare time.
