Fantastic year 5 public speakers
It was great fun judging the Year 5 ‘Who was the greatest Olympian?’ public speaking competition at Hutton C of E Grammar School.
Well done to Olivia Bleasdale from Penwortham Broad Oak Primary School for winning the competition with her fantastic speech about legendary American sprinter and long jumper Jesse Owens.
Congratulations to all the children who took part from Lostock Hall Community Primary School, Penwortham Broad Oak Primary School, St Aidan's Primary School, New Longton All Saints' C of E Primary School, Tarleton Community Primary School and Longton Primary School. It is no small feat to stand up and speak in front of others and they all did brilliantly.
Thank you to Tarleton Community Primary School Head Chris Upton for organising this fab event. My fellow judges were Nicola Moran, headteacher of Hutton Grammar School and Graham Liver, host of BBC Radio Lancashire's Breakfast Show.
