For the first time in South Ribble all the agencies with the responsibility to address flooding have been brought together in my office in Leyland to go through each issue you have reported to me.
My flood summit was attended by key stakeholders from United Utilities, Lancashire County Council, the Environment Agency, the CLA, and the Marine Management Organisation - MMO.
Over 120 South Ribble locals reported issues to me using my website form.
At the summit, we looked at all the reports and each agency went away with things to investigate and tasks to complete. United Utilities will be working on sewer cleaning and Lancashire County Council will speak to landowners to address drainage issues.
Some communities should start to see work to improve flooding problems in the next few weeks. Some of the issues need investigation and may take a little longer.
Thank you so much to all the organisations for coming to the summit. Our work doesn't end here. We'll be holding another meeting soon to keep things moving.
One of my priorities is to help find solutions for South Ribbleβs flooding problems and this summit is a big step forward.
