I continue to fight for the reopening of Midge Hall Station and the removal of the buffers at Ormskirk.
We need a route from Preston to Liverpool without having to go via Wigan.
I requested a debate to raise the issue and this took place yesterday. Damien Moore, The MP for Southport, also spoke to argue for reinstating the Burscough Curves.
The key to reopening Midge Hall, where trains stop but passengers frustratingly cannot get off. is to take the buffers out at Ormskirk to allow a direct service between Preston and Merseyside.
New multi-mode 3rd rail/battery trains that can do the whole distance are now available and could be used on the line.
