Itβs fantastic that there is so much investment locally for our fantastic NHS. Here are some of the recent and planned improvements:
π©ββ 62 more full-time-equivalent doctors and 225 more nurses in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (in September 2023 compared with September 2022).
π©Ί 34 more full-time equivalent GPs (December 2023 versus December 2019).
π 1,516,883 more appointments in general practice (in the 12 months to December 2023 than in the 12 months to December 2019).
π· 70 more full-time-equivalent direct patient care staff working in general practice (in September 2023 than in September 2019).
π° Β£868,840 awarded to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to partially fund equipment to support a range of studies investigating new treatments for conditions including mental health, cancer and immune disorders.
πΈ Separately, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was among a group of organisations awarded Β£2,262,975 to purchase equipment for a variety of clinical research areas.
π Β£3.77 billion allocated to Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board for 2024/25.
π₯ I have worked hard along with others to gain Β£2 billion in investment in a new hospital to replace Royal Preston Hospital. This is part of the biggest programme of hospital building in a generation. Whichever site is chosen will have good transport links and be purpose-built to meet the needs of patients.
