Today I called on the Prime Minister to join me in thanking Kim, Zach, Shania and Robin for their heroic actions during the Towngate fire in Leyland.
They really showed the best of Lancashire grit and spirit and I want to express my personal gratitude for their actions. Heading home and noticing a shop on fire, did they go past? No, they stopped and climbed over fences and walls to wake up the residents in the flats above and get them out to safety.
This kind of community spirit has been our great strength throughout the pandemic and the selfishness and bravery of all those involved continue to prove that its alive and well in Lancashire.
