Details of the proposed changes in Kingsway
These proposals include making part of Kingsway operate under a one-way traffic system and linking a cycle track that was recently constructed as part of the Tesco development with the section already in place across Penwortham Bridge. Lancashire County Council is aiming to improve facilities for those travelling between Cop Lane junction and Preston City Centre, meaning the introduction of a one-way traffic system on Kingsway from 65m in a south-easterly direction to its junction with Liverpool road. The proposal also includes the installation of parallel crossings for pedestrians and cyclists positioned on top of a road hump, over the junction of Kingsway.
