It was an absolute honour to meet Viktoriia, Svitlana and Danyil today, who arrived in South Ribble a couple of months ago under the Government’s Ukraine Family Scheme, whose visa application I was able to assist with.
They truly are remarkable young people and I wish them all the success with their new ventures here. They came here in extremely difficult circumstances, but it was fantastic to see them settling in and receiving the support they need. I trust that they will be able to return to Ukraine to rejoin their family and friends once it is safe to do so, but I hope in the meantime they can enjoy all of what South Ribble has to offer, including our Northern hospitality
I’d also like to extend my gratitude to their incredible hosts, who have demonstrated such compassion and determination throughout this entire situation, but also to every host across South Ribble who is doing their bit to help. I’m incredibly proud to be your MP.
